Cafes to study in Helsinki

Sometimes you just need to get out of the house and go somewhere new. When I was studying, I would have loved a list of cafes near me to study at… Well, here is that list, and I hope you’ll find a nice little secret spot in Helsinki to concentrate and nail your exams!

Sofia Helsinki

Sofia Helsinki is a well-established kitchen and café in the heart of old Helsinki. You can drop in for sandwiches, hearty lunches, or even a quick drink after an important meeting. You’ll find everything you need under one roof.

The café doesn’t just provide a good spot for anybody who wants to study while eating a delicious cinnamon roll. It also provides co-working and event spaces if needed. If you are part of a group that wants to study a presentation together, Sofia Helsinki is the place to go.

The space is very welcoming and restful. The open-plan rooms of the café and restaurant are ideal for sitting down and working, so if you find yourself needing a moment to think or a place to study, don’t hesitate to visit this place next time you are in the neighbourhood!

Harju 8

There are a number of good cafes to study in Helsinki, but Harju 8 stands out from the rest for two reasons. One, it puts huge emphasis on serving natural food, which includes the wine. Two, it shares its space with a flower shop, so you can buy some flowers after a good day of studying. Something to look forward to for after a difficult study session!

Harju 8 offers a fantastic range of coffee and food to fuel your study time. You can try their summer lunches or perhaps one of their amazing cakes along with a cup of coffee.

Whatever you decide to order, the atmosphere at Harju 8 is excellent for studying. You will be able to dive in your books and get some serious work done.

Allas Café & Terrace

Allas Café and Terrace is truly different than other study spots you might be used to: it has a pool!

This café has a very central location which makes it easy to go to. Furthermore, it has both an indoor and an outdoor section, making it perfect for any type of weather, so your studying won’t be held up by inclement weather if you come to this café, and you can even have a refreshing dip in their pool afterwards!

Allas Café and Terrace can be anything you need, from an all-day coffee source to a supplier of take-away lunches. The outside terrace is perfect to relax after your work session. The café is very popular among people working remotely, so you will most likely fit right in if you come here to study! No need to worry about weird insisting looks asking you to vacate as soon as your drink is finished when you come to Allas Café and Terrace. You will find good company there with fellow workers and students.

Fazer Cafés

The Fazer Cafes are some of the best cafes in Helsinki. With thirteen branches around the city, you are sure to always be able to find one near you.
Fazer cafes market themselves as classic cafes with a modern twist. If you want, you’ll be able to go to one of them to enjoy a nice lunch after your morning session of studying! They offer great food, drinks, and handmade pastries.

Fazer has been around for a long time, and its goal has always been to provide the best experience possible. It started with a simple café, and it has since then branched out, offering more goods and services to its customers throughout the years.

This place is a good choice for anybody who needs to do some studying. You will find a good, relaxed atmosphere at every of their locations, and good food!

Paulig Kulma

If you want the freshest coffee possible to stay awake during a long day of studying, go to Paulig Kulma! Popular café in Helsinki, it is also a roastery, so you’ll be able to get yourself a fresh cup of coffee to get that energy boost to study. If you want to make sure to have a spot, it might be best to make a reservation. That way, you’ll be sure to have a comfortable space for yourself.

Paulig Kulma is a traditional style café-bistro that offers light refreshments and a weekend brunch. So, if you ever need to do some weekend studying, you can book yourself in for brunch as a treat before getting started on your work! It is a great place to study during the day and relax after. They even dos after-works with amazing cocktails – at what point you might want to look for another study space if you’re not in a party mood 😜

Kaffa Roastery

Kaffa Roastery is the perfect spot for you to grab a cup of coffee and catch up with an old friend, or answer a few emails during your lunch break. It is one of the most popular cafes in the Punavuori neighborhood of Helsinki. Due to its central location and proximity to the railway station, it is very accessible.

The place itself has a bright ambiance and is perfect if you want to relax or work. A strong wi-fi connection, adequate seating, and delicious coffee make it the perfect place to get some work done at any time of the day. If you work from home, then you know that the routine can get quite monotonous after a while, and it becomes increasingly difficult to focus and be productive. The solution is simple:

  • Get your laptop and head over to Kaffa Roastery.
  • Find a comfortable corner to work.
  • Order great coffee and enjoy the fantastic views from the huge windows

And if you are tired of sitting and need a change of pace, explore their exhibition laboratory open to all customers. You’ll get to stretch your legs and learn about the roasting process of coffee beans.

You can even go there to unwind after a long day of classes. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is lively but relaxing, and the staff is kind and accommodative. Due to its popularity, it is often busy but without being too loud. It is the perfect example of what a café ought to be.

Cafes are very good places to get some work done if you are that way inclined. You just need to pick one that is quiet enough, and you can easily get into it. So head out and enjoy your study sessions in Helsinki!
