We are honored to welcome Matilde on the TWISPER app where she recommends all the places she loves in Lisbon, London and around the world. Here’s a selection of some of her favorite spots to visit in her hometown.

Hello, Kristof

To all coffee lovers, this is the place for you in Lisbon. Order a cup of their specialty coffee and get comfortable enjoying your hot drink and catching up on your reading (or borrow one of their magazines 😉).

« A specialty coffee and magazine shop. Love the simplicity of the place, the opportunity to browse through some amazing magazines, drink specialty coffee and eat delicious food whilst taking my emails (great place to work from). »

Café Janis

Need to escape for a moment? This place will add some color to your life and transport you with its tropical atmosphere! The food is amazing, and it feels like summer all year long at Café Janis 🌴

At the Seagull Method Café, the picture-perfect dishes taste as good as they look stunning! For breakfast or lunch (or brunch!), you’ll find everything you need to satisfy your cravings 🤤 Go there without hesitation!

« A cool and pet-friendly café near Princípe Real, perfect for breakfast, brunch and lunch with friends and even casual work meetings. Highly recommend their coffee and their mac & cheese! »

Created by two Portuguese friends who fell in love with ramen during their time spent in Japan, Ajitama serves authentic ramen in Lisbon 🍜 The self-taught cooks developed their incredible recipe after years of research and learning.

« An 100% craft Ramen Bistro near Marquês de Pombal. Delicious Ramen, cocktails and desserts! Highly recommend their Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen and their pumpkin pie. »

Heim Café

Another one for the brunch lovers! According to Matilde, there’s no better place than Heim Café to get a morning meal in Lisbon. And by the look of their mouth-watering dishes, we think she’s right! This place is an amazing spot to get all your breakfast favorites 🥞

« Bold statement coming: they have the best pancakes in town! Perfect place for an earthy brunch date with friends. Apart from the fluffy pancakes, they also have other delicious brunch options in their menu. »

Prado Mercearia

Selling locally and sustainably produced goods, Prado Mercearia has a unique atmosphere where old meets new. Reminiscent of old convenience stores, it’s a great place to sit down and take a break while visiting the city.

« A deli store, wine bar and café not far from Baixa (downtown). They sell authentic portuguese & organic products as well as natural wines. Love stopping by for a coffee and delicious food. »

In addition to its ideal location near the river, this old pharmacy turned coffee shop offers many tasty treats and flavorful craft coffee and other drinks ☕

« A fair-trade specialty coffee shop serving delicious food made of natural ingredients and without refined sugar or processed products. Highly recommend their turmeric latte, the perfect boost to our immune system. »

ZeroZero Príncipe Real

Head to ZeroZero for a taste of Italy in the heart of Lisbon. The pizza is the star at this great Italian restaurant 🍕, but the other dishes are definitely worth a try too!

« Italian restaurant in Príncipe Real with a beautiful outdoor area – perfect for a summery Italian lunch / dinner. Delicious pizzas, cocktails and their tiramisù is to die for. »

Of course, you cannot visit Portugal’s capital without having one of its legendary egg custard tart pastries! The pastéis de nata are a staple of the local cuisine and we promise you won’t regret tasting them. Although you can buy them pretty much everywhere, Manteigaria is considered by most locals as THE place to get these pastries 🌟 Their unparalleled flavors will have you coming for more!

« In my opinion, Manteigaria is one of the best portuguese custard pie factory in Lisbon! Their Pastéis de Nata are a piece of heaven, crunchy on the outside and smooth on the inside! Best eaten when warm and with cinnamon on top and of course, with an espresso! »
